Donte Whitner is Just Like Me and You
September 21, 2009 - 3:31 pm by TheRiotThere are moments in sports where it’s comforting to know that many of these highly paid athletes are just everyday kind of people that just happen to make loads of money.
Take, for example, Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley. Now put yourself in the shoes of his teammates. Everybody knows that guy at the office who is never happy with life and is just kind of douchey. That’s Milton. So really, the other Cubs have the same problems as the rest of us.
Except after work is over they go home to a hot girlfriend or wife in a Chicago high rise or something. Whatever.
There are also many people that have been the victim of thievery. There are a lot of bad people out there in the real world that will break into a normal person’s house and take their meager belongings.
Turns out this also happens to high-profile athletes like Buffalo Bills safety Donte Whitner, who found out after Sunday’s win against Tampa Bay that $400,000 worth of jewelery had been taken from his home.
“It’s mind-boggling,” said the player’s spokeswoman Patrice Horton, who described Whitner as upset and hurt. “He’s safe, but he’s on high alert. He doesn’t know who did this.”
I mean, I remember a couple years ago when about that much worth of bling was stolen from me…Oh wait. Yeah. Nevermind. Bet that sucks though.
Someone in college did steal a sandwich right out of my fridge one time. That was tough. I really wanted that sandwich.

If he’s careless and dumb enough to have that much jewelry around the house, he gets no sympathy from me. Besides, it’s just not right for a man to own that much bling.
