WiseGuyAction’s Tuesday College Hoops Delights
February 9, 2010 - 1:22 am by Kevin L. Johnston
After a lucrative second day at Rumors & Rants, my self-esteem has skyrocketed from below average to slightly below average. If I was the kind of douche that wears sunglasses at night I just might consider picking up some prescription Ray Bans to wear out this weekend if I can string together a few more winning days. These three plays all look rather appetizing, so proceed without caution…
1 unit - It’s still better than the scallywag you took home from the bar last night.
2 units - Dude, are you sure?
3 units - That’s gold Jerry, gold!
4 units - You might need to move into your aunt Patty’s basement for a few months if this one’s not a winner.
YTD Record: 5-3, +3.50 units

Georgetown at Providence
Under 158.5 (-110, 2 units)
St. Louis at St. Joseph’s
St. Joseph’s -1 (-110, 2 units)
Both of these programs are having huge down years. There isn’t much to get excited about with either one of these teams; the only difference is that lately St. Joseph’s has shown glimpses of being a competitive team while St. Louis has continued to seriously underwhelm. I definitely like laying just 1 point in this spot on the home team who has been playing the better basketball of late. Did I mention St. Louis is 2-5 on the road? St. Joe’s is 7-4 at home.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma
Texas Tech +5.5 (-110, 2 units)
Alright, so a couple of idiots on the Sooners, Andrew Fitzgerald & Steven Pledger (pictured above), got issued a citation for petty larceny, so what? If Oklahoma had a halfway decent team to begin with this year I might almost care. Take the Red Raiders plus the points despite the fact that Oklahoma has been solid at home this year. I like the play even without the off court distraction, but if it mentally affects the Sooners at all it’s just icing on the cake.
