Ndamukong Suh Asks To Meet With Roger Goodell

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been called a dirty player and, he could be, depending on your definition of what constitutes dirty play. It looks like Suh would like that defined for himself, as he has contacted NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to set up a meeting.

Suh wants to meet with Goodell and other members of the league office. He wants the league to clarify why he was penalized on certain plays and tell his side of the story. Suh’s hope is that the meeting will result in him figuring out a way to curb the penalties that he has been racking up at a prolific rate this season.

The meeting is likely to take place during the Lions’ Week 9 bye and could include head coach Jim Schwartz as well.

As everyone knows, Suh is one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the NFL, but he has been penalized a number of times this year for hitting quarterbacks late or in the wrong way (like by smacking them in the face).

The fact that Suh is taking it upon himself to organize this meeting and figure out a way to fix the problem says a lot about his maturity. He knows he’s doing something wrong that is ultimately hurting his team and he wants to make sure it doesn’t happen anymore. Unlike, say James Harrison, who just lashes out in public when he gets fined, Suh is actually trying to solve his problem constructively.
