Tiki Barber Worked Out For The Miami Dolphins

Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber is currently attempting a comeback after four years away from football. Despite a reasonable amount of attention given to this story, there haven’t really been reports of where Barber might end up or if any teams have shown interest. Well, that changed today.
Apparently Barber worked out for the Miami Dolphins earlier this week. The Dolphins are facing a rebuilding project at running back after losing Ronnie Brown to free agency. They drafted Daniel Thomas, then traded for Reggie Bush, but clearly think they need another back.
The 36-year-old Barber would have been no more than a third-string back for Miami, but there did appear to be some interest from the team initially. The team reportedly passed on signing him and does not have interest doing so at the moment. The Dolphins want to see how their new group of backs perform before adding anyone else to the mix.
The visit to Miami was Barber’s first workout with a team, which is a pretty good indication of what the personnel people in the NFL think about him. Despite Peter King’s best efforts, Barber is not looked upon favorably by the NFL establishment.
Barber was reportedly a horrible presence in the Giants’ locker room, threw his former quarterback Eli Manning under the bus, and his antics with 23-year-old NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson while his wife was eight-months pregnant were repugnant. For those who don’t know, Barber left his wife of 11 years for the 23-year-old when he was working as a correspondent for the “Today” show.
Whether any of that has anything to do with his abilities on the field is debatable, but Barber clearly represents a distraction the Dolphins, and every other NFL team, don’t want right now.

BARBER WAS A PREMIER BACK WITH BIG BLUE WHO THOUGHT HE WAS BIGGER THAN THE TEAM.HE LEFT & THE G MEN GOT THE TROPHY. POOR TIKI,HE COMPARED HIMSELF TO ANN FRANK. SURE SHOWS WERE HIS HEAD IS AT.POOR TIKI, EVERY BODY IS MAD AT POOR TIKI. TOO BAD FOR POOR TIKI.HE HAD UNBELIEVABLE TALENT,CARRIED THE TEAM ON HIS BACK & THREW THEM UNDER THE BUS.POOR TIKI.IT’S A REAL SHAME.HE PROBABLY COULD STILL PLAY AT A HIGH LEVEL, BUT WHOW WANTS POOR TIKI?
