New York Knicks Trying To Land Jimmer Fredette?

Rumors are swirling right now that the New York Knicks are trying to move up in the NBA Draft to land BYU guard Jimmer Fredette. The Knicks currently hold the No. 17 pick in the first round, and they’d likely have to move up inside the top 12 to be assured of landing Fredette. ESPN’s Chad Ford currently has Fredette going to the Indiana Pacers at No. 15, but he could go as high as No. 7 to the Sacramento Kings.

Currently the Minnesota Timberwolves (No. 2), Utah Jazz (No. 3), Cleveland Cavaliers (No. 4) and Washington Wizards (No. 6) are all looking to move their picks. If the Knicks want Fredette badly, they will be able to move up, the question is, how much would they be willing to move up?

Fredette would almost certainly welcome the chance to play for the Knicks. He’s a native of Glens Falls, New York and most experts feel a system like that of Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni would fit his style of play perfectly.

The Knicks are one of several other teams are interested in Fredette and feel they need to move ahead of the Jazz’s second pick at No. 12. This is a situation with a lot of moving parts, but make no mistake, the Knicks are trying to move up to land Fredette.
