  2. The 8 on 5 defense by Uconn killed Butler. Another teams cheats its way to a championship. Way to go Uconn you can’t get any POY awrds for you lame player Walker so you buy a championship instead. Congrats on being the cheaters you are.

  4. Congratulations Cheaters. UCONN the best team money can buy. WHy isnt their coach suspended now and not next year. NCAA should be ashamed.

  5. I agree, not only did Butler have to play uconn, it appeared at times they were playing against the referees as well. I totally agree, Calhoun should have been suspended, looks like they got the same treatment as OSU.

  6. Icy cold shooting- such a shame, or we would have seen genious coaching talent win with average players over a corrupt program. Does anyone actually root for this UConn program that didn’t graduate from there?

  7. Really? Explain how they had to play the refs. The game was not unfairly refereed its just that UConn outlasted Butler. Period. Allegations against Jim Calhoun do not make that fact go away.

  8. The ncaa should be ashamed if these are the 3 best officials they can come up. It looks like they got them from the NBA. College basketball used to have more class than this. Worst title game i’ve ever seen. Quit watching basketball after the jazz lost to the bulls for second straight year. The whole CBS crew was bad and living in Utah Jim Nance Used to be the best looks like it’s gone to his head. Not going to watch the college anymore either if this is the best they can offer.

  12. Totally agree. Worst Basketball game I’ve seen in years. A BIG disgrace to all the other, better teams that were eliminated. Hope the girls do better tomorrow!

  14. You have got to be kidding me! What a bunch of pathetic losers. “oh, Calhoun is a cheat”. Blah blah blah. The man gets it done and does a great job! Some puke kid that everyone agrees they made a mistake even talking to should not be the issue that it is. Just a bunch of haters looking for their chance to pile on.
You rock coach calhoun! Walk off into the sunset if you want and tell the NCAA where to stick their three game suspension.

  18. im a west virginia mountaineer fan so i personally didnt care who won (am grateful that big east “won” after seeing the other 10 fall- gives redemption to all the haters who said the big east was overrated) i agree tho that this was THE WORST championship game ive ever seen. BOTH teams were bad UCONN was just a little bit “better” than Butler. i do agree with the mike and mike in the morning guys on espn radio. this does not make UCONN the best team in the country….just the winner of this particular tournament…… note to the NCAA mafia- want to crown a true champ downsize the tourney not increase- oh wait i forgot its all about the money

  19. I have to take my hats off to bothe Butler and UConn because not many predicted them going to the elite eight let alone the championship game. Butler had an off shooting game but it had a lot to do with UConn’s length and athleticism. UConn won 11 games in 27 days and Butler made it back to back although falling short. Job well done guys!

  20. The old,old saying has been proven true over and over. Coaches like the one at the University of Kentucky, wants to blame poor shooting for his lost???? The Wildcats lost by one point. Now that Coach needs to see how many FREE THROWS his team missed? On my team if one cannot make his FREE THROWS, then he does not qualify to be on the floor. Look at how many games are lost by under 6 points, then look at the FREE THROWS missed. FREE THROWS win or lose Basketball games. If they can learn to throw a peice of paper into a trash can, why can they not make their FREE THROWS. That is what put the UNIVERSITY OF KY. OUT. THEY COULD NOT MAKE FREE THROWS AND LOST BY ONLY 1 point????? As Barkely also say, Live by the 3 die by the 3 pointer. Missed FREE THROWS. THEY ARE FREE. SO IS PLAYER CANNOT MAKE A FREE THROW, THEN I DO NOT CARE IF HE IS 8 FEET TALL, HE IS NOT AN GREAT CANIDATE FOR THE NBA.

  21. this is the worst game ive ever seen, this is how bad the talent in colledge basketball has come, with all the good talent leaving early for the nba this is what were left with niether one of these teams are that good that was proven tonight if you want to watch real championship game wth the womens game.

By warren on Apr 5, 2011

  22. Why don’t all the UCONN haters accept the facts…Butler was outplayed in every aspect of the game. Granted….neither team played like finalist and it was tough to watch most of the time. The only state that supported the UCONN team was CT. All the haters are crying because their favorite team(s) were eliminated.
…just like all the TV analyst who hate UCONN.
Does anyone recall what the Butler coach said about UCONN after Butlers loss in the finals? “Butler has never faced a team like UCONN in two years”. That was meant as a compliment…to their athleticism and defensive skills.

  23. When Butler went to the locker room up three, Brad Stevens needed to poll his coaching staff on second half strategy. It was evident that UConn was quicker, taller and more talented than Butler. No adjustments were made. Butler suffered a meltdown of epic proportions in the second half. UConn helped, but most of Butler’s wounds were sefl-inflicted. Until I see otherwise, Brad Stevens is a one trick pony.
