Favre’s Future Rests With Southern Miss Baseball

Do you know whether Brett Favre is coming back to the Minnesota Vikings for one more year?

Let me go ahead and answer. No, you don’t. Nobody has any idea, probably not even Favre himself. Will he be able to put another season-ending interception (that a way Tracy Porter!) behind him? Can he figure out a way to skip training camp? A lot of questions need to be answered.

Or do we need to watch the Southern Miss baseball team a little bit closer to seek the answer?

Yep, that’s right. Favre on Thursday apparently told the Golden Eagle baseball team if it makes the College World Series he’ll return to the Vikings for one more go round.

Just think how hard Brad Childress is rooting for Southern Miss, Favre’s alma mater, now with no real quarterback options.

I still say he should have drafted Jimmy Clausen, even though Chris Berman was offended by the suggestion, so there’s a viable option in place if Favre doesn’t return, but what do I know?

Anyway, why does Favre do things like this? Can’t he just disappear for a little while before bursting back into the sports world with some kind of announcement?

Apparently not. Heck, ESPN was running a story on SportsCenter the other day that there was no Favre news to report. Really. That’s what we’ve come to.

So, we’re sure to spend the rest of our summer being held hostage by this non-story. Then again, if Southern Miss can put some wins together and make it to Omaha, well, all our problems will be solved.

Go Golden Eagles!

  2. Berman’s just jealous because Clausen can get more Leather than he can these days.

Granted, the leather is still on the cows, but that’s neither here nor there.

  3. Hmmm…that seemed a lot more clever in my mind.

Fat chicks. I’m talking about Clausen getting fat chicks.
