Melanie Oudin’s Grunting Is Uncomfortable

I was watching the U.S. Open Wednesday night, since I had to check out this young tennis phenom everyone has been astir over. Melanie Oudin is apparently the real deal - though she got destroyed last night. She’s the youngest player to reach the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open since Serena Williams did it in 1999. She’s an impressive young player to say the least, there’s just one problem: she grunts, really loud.
Look, I’m aware that it’s women’s tennis and loud yelps have become a part of the sport but, I mean, she’s only 17. It just, i don’t know, made me uncomfortable.
Luckily, Oudin’s opponent, Caroline Wozniacki, is kinda cute, so I had that to focus on. Wozniacki cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win, as Oudin managed just 11 winners and committed 43 unforced errors.
It was a nice run for Oudin, who knocked off Maria Sharapova and Elena Dementieva on her way to the quarterfinals.
The Danish Wozniacki is just 19-years-old and ranked No. 8 in the world , and now she’s in the semifinals at the U.S. Open. And, like I said, she’s not bad looking. Picture evidence after the jump.

You were watching Tennis last night? I thought you were rooting for Team USA? Wasn’t it you that called me out for watching the tennis over soccer last night? Suspicious…. As for women grunting, Oudin barely lets out a squeak! She only started making noise toward the end of the match, and even then it was just a whimper… Nothing like Venus Williams… Maybe you would have realized this if you were actually watching the tennis and not USA soccer…
