Let the Doomsday Count Begin

As has been posted here before, we’re not immune to believing in curses around here, no matter how crazy they may seem. This is especially true when it comes to the Chicago Cubs.

Many of us are true Cubs fans, not just the beer toting, partying variety.

Now, the Cubs have the best record in the league and all that. They’re the best team. But on Tuesday the Northsiders lost their fourth straight at home and Carlos Zambrano left the game with “arm soreness.”

Word on the street is he is to be examined today to see what’s up. Also, Rich Harden’s next start has been pushed back a few days to apparently give him some extra rest.

Harden has denied that he’s hurt.

In theory it’s all good if Z’s arm is just tired and Lou Piniella can give Harden (and everyone for that matter) extra rest because the Cubs have such a big cushion for making the playoffs.

Then again, this could be the end as we know it. Shit.
