Hey Did You Hear What the Chicago Cubs Did?

We’re sorry. We know it’s late. We know it’s old news. We know that by now you’re way beyond the fact that the Cubs clinched their second straight NL Central title over the weekend and have now set their eyes squarely on making the World Series.
Still sounds funny to say that.
We’re fine with it if you gloss right over this post. We just had to make sure we mentioned that it did, indeed, happen. Now we can all move forward. But not before thinking about the possible playoff matchups for the North Siders.
They’re also one game away from clinching home field advantage. So that’s nice.
Let us not forget, though, that there’s another baseball team in Chicago and it is also on its way to clinching a spot in the playoffs.
The White Sox head to Minnesota for a critical three-game series with the Twins beginning Tuesday. Their magic number is now five and they have a 2 1/2 game lead over the Twinkies. Let’s hope they hold on, right?
