This one is really personal for a few of us here at Rumors and Rants. Trevor Hoffman, the best closer in baseball history (shut up Yankees fans) got career save No. 600 tonight in Milwaukee.
For Hoffman, it's an amazing mark. He became the first closer to reach that number in ...

The Milwaukee Brewers have sent Trevor Hoffman through waivers and are currently looking for a buyer for the future Hall of Fame closer. Currently, there are no takers for the all-time saves leader and it doesn't look like a destination will emerge for Hoffy.
What does that mean for the 42-year-old ...

After roughly a decade and a half of Trevor Hoffman ruling their 'pen, the San Diego Padres have a new closer. Everyone's favorite Wii Fit user, Heath Bell, took the ball in the ninth inning last night with a 4-2 lead and shut the door on the Los Angeles Dodgers. ...

As I'm sure you've heard, yesterday baseball's all-time saves leader agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, officially ending his 16-year tenure with the San Diego Padres. As a lifelong Padres fan, I'm not happy. In fact, I'm the opposite of happy.
Typically I try to take the high road ...

It doesn't take a genius to see the San Diego Padres aren't a rich team. But they aren't a poor team either. Yet suddenly they're dumping good players left and right. Well, they're dumping both good players because of "salary concerns" even though everyone knows the team is dumping salary ...
