Last night a really cool thing happened in San Diego. Anthony Keith Gwynn returned and led the Padres to a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants. No I didn't take a flying Delorian back to 1998, this time the Gwynn in question had a "Jr." appended to his name.

As I'm sure you've heard, yesterday baseball's all-time saves leader agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, officially ending his 16-year tenure with the San Diego Padres. As a lifelong Padres fan, I'm not happy. In fact, I'm the opposite of happy.

But firing the manager right now? In the middle of a playoff race? Seriously? Wow. Incredible timing on the part of Brewers general manager Doug Melvin.
