I wonder why the recruits that signed with UCLA this year did so knowing that there was no control in the program from the coaching staff. Makes a person think that they went there thinking that they could do what ever they wanted. If that be the case them it will show that Howland has lost total control of the program. I guess we will see

The fact this guy’s rep was already a shambles lets me know Nelson is wasting his time with this lawsuit. He needs to take a long, hard look at himself and his behavior to see how he contributed to his bad reputation. Having said that, if he’s got the skills to be in the NBA some desperate team will roll the dice and give him a chance. Unlike in regular life, professional athletes get 2nd, 3rd and in some situations 4th chances to redeem themselves.

That would really, REALLY piss me off. He is the 1 guy they should hold on to and build around. Everyone else can go. Why deal a 22 year old who is the only recent Cubs prospect to not flame-out for even younger guys who have proven nothing? Plus I just bought his jersey this year…

I agree. The Griffeys (Ken, Sr. and Ken, Jr.) and the Ripkens (Cal, Sr. and Cal, Jr.) are surely one and two (respectively). The Griffeys were two of the best hitters ever. They even hit back-to-back homers!

@ NYRFAN4EVR First things first, The devils have been in NJ since 82, not 83. So before you criticize the fans get the facts straight. Second , what is the problem with Devils’ fans wanting to sell their tickets to other Devils fans? If they want to see OUR arena filled with our fans, what’s wrong with that? We all know the reason Rangers’ fans want those tickets is because all of the good seats in The Garden are corporate owned and no loyal fan can get their hands on them for a reasonable price. NY fans have always had a superiority complex over NJ fans. Rangers fans in particular. I don’t worry about what the other teams are doing, just my own. This is all just my humble opinion.

Mike C NAILED it! He is deflecting all the negativity to himself, so his players aren’t distracted. “Keeping it in the room” also means “what I say to my players is none of your business”. Everyone saw he sat Gaborik for the first 10 minutes of the 3rd. He’s definitely doing the right things with the club. And no, I’m nowhere close to being a Rangers fan. As far as everyone’s panties being in a bunch about his press conferences, do you really expect him to be chipper about losing? Yeah, he is the face of the team, they lost and he HATES it. The media get’s to nitpick every single decision he makes, he has to go with his gut, his feelings, and his passion. I don’t think it’s anything that you see but the passion and loyalty he has for his players, and what he’s trying to (and succeeding in doing) for the Rangers organization.
