Ashley Wagner reacts hilariously to low score again

Ashley Wagner

It’s official, we love Ashley Wagner. The 22-year-old American figure skater is the queen of fantastic reaction faces and she did it again on Wednesday.

After receiving a low score for a near-flawless short program in the team competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Wagner gave us a priceless reaction. After her short program for the singles competition on Wednesday she once again gave us a perfect face to match her feelings.

Check out the GIF after the jump.

That reaction basically says, what else can I do but just laugh and act happy? Frankly, it’s the right attitude, since no one really knows what the figure skating judges are doing at the Sochi Games.

Wagner was given a score of 65.21, putting her in sixth place, well behind leader Kim Yu-na of South Korea, who leads with a score of 74.92. Fellow American Gracie Gold is in fourth (68.63), while young American Polina Edmunds sits in seventh (61.04).

But of everyone who skated on Wednesday, Wagner gave us the biggest highlight. As if we didn’t already love her for skating to Pink Floyd, claiming she wants to be “edgy” and “sexy” and her previous reaction face, Wednesday sealed the deal.

She’ll be in the final group for her free skate on Thursday and we recommend you watch, since you never know what she’s going to do or how she’s going to react.

In case you can’t get enough of her, here’s her instant reaction to Wednesday’s score:

  2. This girl is fantastic, and of course we wish her the best. But . . . it’s her bad luck that she reminds us just a little too much of Tanya Harding.

  3. She may remind us a little too much of Tanya Harding, but I bet she won’t be knocking her teammates kneecaps out lol.

  4. Reminds us of Tonya Harding??? Are you kidding me? There is nothing to compare the two. Tonya was a hard luck story from the word go. Ashley has alway been a class act. Their backgrounds are nothing alike.

  5. Her reaction says a little more actually. Ashley’s score in the team competition was 63.10. That performance was better than this performance, yet she scored higher here.

  6. Reminds us of Tonya Harding????? Why because she has blonde hair? That’s about the ONLY comparison that can truly be made. 1.) Overall the judging has been just overall TERRIBLE 2.) I almost get the sense that shes being PUNISHED and scored harshly for her sassyness and being sexy. Its a shame – shes a great skater and deserves better

  7. That girl is a snotty witch. She acts & looks as if she is better than everyone else. Just a self centered witch!

  8. The American skaters Gold and Wagner were robbed big time the judges have always been extra hard on us some have said it was because our pairs took gold and I believe it we should complain to the powers that be

  9. She has no class and can’t take responsibility for her behavior. That’s tanyaesque. Complains when others get better scores, whether fair or unfair, even when it’s her teammates sitting right next to her.
