Florida State freshman QB Jameis Winston dominates debut

The last time someone named Winston looked this awesome, he was blowing away the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.

Florida State freshman quarterback Jameis Winston showed why there was so much preseason hype surrounding him as he absolutely torched Pitt on Monday night.  Winston was 25-of-27 for 356 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score. Those are the kind of stats you put up playing NCAA on junior varsity mode.

Which, to be fair, Winston was doing. Pitt may be part of the ACC now, but they’re still a program laden with Big East talent. And the trouble with having Big East talent is it’ll get your ass kicked by Towson and McNeese State.

So with the “Winston for Heisman!” talk reaching epidemic levels on Twitter, I felt it was necessary to calm people down and let the season play out, lest we forget Geno Smith Fever.

And then I saw this.

Oh. Well in that case,  looks like this year’s Heisman race is already over, folks.

The last two winners, Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel, happen to share that same trait: wanted to play quarterback for the Longhorns, didn’t get offered scholarships at the position by Mack Brown. (Which, by the way, is the only thing RGIII and JFF can say they have in common).

Heck, these may end up being the only two incompletions thrown by Winston all season. The rest of the world better watch out. I’m calling a Mack Brown-shoulda-maybe-offered-that-guy-a-scholarship Heisman threepeat.
