Video: Tim Hudson uses rosin bag on his head

Tim Hudson

It’s rare that I can watch a baseball game and see something that I have never seen before. But that’s just what happened Tuesday night.

During the bottom of the second inning of the San Diego Padres’ 3-2 win over the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta’s veteran hurler Tim Hudson used the rosin bag to mop off his sweaty, freshly-shaved head. For those of you thinking I’m alluding to something dirty, get your minds out of the gutter.

Hudson struck out Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe swinging, then removed his cap and dried his bald head using the rosin bag. I can legitimately say I’ve never seen anyone do that before.

Enjoy the video:

Hey Tim, other people have to use that you know? Jerk.

  3. I was clearly kidding when calling him a jerk. But I watch a ton of baseball and have never seen that before. The Padres announcers – which include former players Tony Gwynn and Mark Grant – agreed that they had never seen it before either.

  4. Something that has never happened before occurs on a nightly basis. How could it possibly be “rare” that you see something you have never seen before? I don’t think you pay attention, and doubt you watch a “ton” of baseball.
