Chicago White Sox Trade Kenny Williams Jr.

The Chicago White Sox have certainly been an active team in baseball’s young offseason.

The Sox have already bumped Kenny Williams upstairs from General Manager to Executive Vice President and signed Jake Peavy to a two-year extension that could work out if Peavy doesn’t fall apart physically as he has been known to do throughout his career.

On Thursday, new GM Rick Hahn asserted his new power by dealing Williams’ son out of the organization.

Double A outfielder Ken Williams, Jr. was sent to the Rockies organization for Class A first baseman Mark Tracy — the son of former Rockies manager Jim Tracy. The move seems like a symbolic one for both teams, which likely only picked each player because of nepotism in the first place.

Still, the fact Williams Sr. is technically Hahn’s boss might make for some awkward talk at the Thanksgiving table in a few weeks.

“Can you pass the gravy, dear?”

“YOU ALLOWED MY BABY TO BE TRADED! GET YOUR OWN DAMN GRAVY!”
