Former Professional Wrestler Gets 32 Years For “HIV Assault”

A former professional wrestler has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for having sex with women without telling them he had tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

The 29-year-old Andre Davis – who wrestled under the names Gangsta of Love and Sweet Sexy Sensation – was sentenced on 14 counts of felonious assault on Monday in Cincinnati, after being convicted in November. Prosecutors had claimed that Davis violated state law by not telling a dozen sex partners about his HIV-positive status or lying to them about it.

On Monday Davis told the judge he was a sex addict and that his addiction became worse after he lost his chance to become a pro wrestler following his positive HIV test. He also claims he didn’t disclose his HIV test results because he didn’t want his family to know, and says he never meant to hurt anyone.

“I am not a monster,” Davis said.

Well I guess we can just go ahead and agree to disagree on that one dude.

The Cincinnati Enquirer has reported that World Wrestling Entertainment told Davis it wouldn’t hire him in July of 2009 because he failed his physical by testing positive for HIV. Davis could have received over 100 years in prison, and he faces similar charges in Warren County, Ohio.

Davis’ attorney Greg Cohen has claimed that an appeal will be filed.

Cohen further noted that a company, not a doctor had told his client that he tested positive and that he didn’t believe prosecutors could prove that Davis actually has HIV.

That’s a pretty thin defense there, Greg. You were actually getting paid to defend this guy? If so you really ripped him off.

  2. There’s a dozen women who don’t care about their lives, either. Sooooo many women let stange men run up in them RAW and then cry about it later!?!?! I understand that laws are legally binding, however there is some culpability involved with these women who opened their legs for a complete stranger, also. Isn’t there??? He’s just a sex fiend who knows that he has a death sentence and is not going to say no to natural sex unless the woman has a brain and requires protection or health records first.
