As I type this Game 7 of the World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals is still going on, but we already have our MVP. He’s a guy who got field-level tickets (in the coveted even with third base area no less) to the most-hyped baseball game in years and he chose to wear what must be his Sunday-best outfit to the contest.
I give you, Budweiser Sweater Guy:
With one out in the top of the fifth inning, Cardinals third baseman David Freese chased a foul pop fly by Josh Hamilton. The ball drifted towards the stands, and as Freese reached into the seats to make a spectacular catch, we were introduced to a man with the most hideous/best sweater I’ve ever seen.
I have to find out where this kid got that thing, because it looks like his alcoholic grandmother knitted it and gave it to him on what I can only assume was a very disappointing Christmas.
Bonus points to the guy over his right shoulder who is clearly not impressed by Mr. Freese’s catch.
UPDATE: Now with more picture-y goodness.
In this one Nolan Ryan is to the left of BSG (Budweiser Sweater Guy) and he is clearly not enjoying his night. That makes sense, after all, his Rangers lost the game 6-2 and failed to bring home the World Series crown.
