Baltimore Ravens safety, and professional boxer, Tom Zbikowski has reportedly failed a drug test following a fight in Oklahoma Saturday. The Chickasaw Nation Boxing Commission suspended five boxers (including Zbikowski) pending a second test. The drug in question is reportedly THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
Zbikowski’s manager Mike Joyce claims they will appeal the ruling, claiming that the testing procedure was less than scientific.
“We’re appealing it. After the fight, all the fighters tested were positive. They had you peen in a cup and put a strip of something in there. I’ve never seen results where you get them the say of the fight. It was light a home pregnancy test or something.”
Zbikowski has reportedly never tested positive for anything during NFL administered tests.
The former Notre Dame star knocked out Blake Warner in the first round on Saturday night, running his professional record to 4-0. He currently has two upcoming fights scheduled, the first on May 21 at Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California and another on June 4 in Los Angeles.
There is no word on how this positive test will affect those fights.
