Angry World Cup Fan Accidentally Injures Father

June 15, 2010 – 12:02 am by Ryan Phillips

Well, we have our first fan-related injury story of the 2010 World Cup and it isn’t a pretty one. Mohamad Rizal was innocently watching the Ghana-Serbia match on Sunday when he was overwhelmed with rage.

The 17-year-old from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was rooting for Serbia. When his team conceded an 85th minute goal via a penalty kick, he kicked a ball in frustration. Unfortunately his seemingly innocent act nearly cost his father an ear.

The ball shattered a window next to where his father, Rosli Mat Noor, was sitting. The flying shards of glass pierced the 43-year-old Noor’s ear and neighbors rushed him to a nearby hospital.

Noor received three stitches but was apparently fine other than that.

Ghana went on to beat Serbia 1-0 in the Group D match.

What ever happened to kicking a dog in anger over a sporting event? Other cultures are so weird and screwed up.

  2. “What ever happened to kicking a dog in anger over a sporting event?” You imply you think that kicking a dog is okay, then call other cultures screwed up? Dude, abuse on any animal is screwed up (be that animal canine, feline, bovine, ursine, human, insect or other)!

  4. I can only imagine what a bore you are at parties Mr Huh? If you can’t see the sarcasm in that obvious statement you probably haven’t laughed at a joke in your life. Losen up.
