Duke Fans Are Fine With Being Evil

April 6, 2010 – 1:44 pm by Ryan Phillips

Last night we were in downtown Indianapolis interviewing fans for YardBarker’s Journey to the Tourney project, sponsored by Champion. We talked to fans from both teams about the roles their squads were playing in the 2010 National Championship Game. Clearly Butler was the classic underdog. They were the feel good story of the year. The small school that makes it onto the big stage against the hated Goliath of an opponent.

We asked Duke fans how they felt about possibly spoiling the ultimate Cinderella story. Not surprisingly, they were all fine with being the bad guys. They knew 99 percent of the nation was rooting against the Blue Devils and they seemed to relish that fact.
