Stoops Denies Notre Dame, Will Accept Job In A Couple Of Weeks

Bob Stoops says he’s not going to Notre Dame this offseason and that he will still be at Oklahoma next year.

Well, that should end that discussion. No coach ever says one thing and then makes the exact opposite decision a little bit later. You know what would have to happen for me to believe he’s staying at Oklahoma University after his worst season in Norman? Fine, I’ll make a list.

  • Bob Stoops must personally come to my house and offer to pay me $1,000 if he leaves Oklahoma for Notre Dame in the next 10 years.
  • Notre Dame must hire another coach, fire that coach, and then hire another one and blame Tyrone Willingham for that disaster as well. And then Stoops STILL can’t take that job or he owes me money.
  • Bob Stoops must coach at least five games of next season in a pink silk suit just so we know it’s not stock footage of him one the sideline or cgi or something.
  • Oklahoma must leave the Big XII South. Not for any reason related to Bob Stoops, that conference is just way unbalanced is all. The Big XII North sucks.

That is the only way I will believe Bob Stoops.

Until then, I can’t wait for the Stoops speculation to continue while we watch a myriad of other high-profile coaches turning the Irish down and then telling the press about it.

Also, does Notre Dame really think Tony Dungy would take that freaking job? He gets paid really well to sit on his righteous ass all week, talk football for a couple hours on Sunday night, then sit on his ass some more. Yeah, South Bend, Indiana sounds fantastic instead of that.

Anyway, Bob Stoops is currently playing the game. Now it’s time for Notre Dame to pretend to search for other coaches while there’s been a deal in place the whole time. Then there are only going to be thirty-something jobs left to fill besides Notre Dame. Awesome.

Hey, IU, Charlie Weis is avai…OK I can’t even finish that sentence with a straight face. Not even the Hoosiers are dumb enough to hire that guy. Great move there Irish, that was $20-$30 million well spent.

  3. Yeah, we’ve been in contact with Mr. Fornelli constantly about this subject, sharing information. His leads seem solid. We’ve been hearing many of the same things from our sources.
