Phillips: Nope.

To back that up, listen to Cholly's presser from this past week. I mean, aside from where he threw Ian Williams under the bus. If you can get through the "tough guy from Jersey" act, you'll see that he's really grasping at anything.

It's kind of funny how "9-3 isn't good enough" has suddenly become "well, you know, ultimately, it's up to the players on the field." Yep, that decided schematic advantage is why our redzone scoring efficiency is so awesome. Oh, no, wait...it's because the incredibly talented line-up at the skill positions just isn't executing properly.

I do give Cholly credit in that he seems to be a good person and all. It's becoming increasingly obvious that he's not head coaching material. But, seriously, cut the crap. Take responsibility for the loss. Back up those tough guy words with some actions, or just pack it up and head off to Miami or New England or wherever.

MJ,
I feel bad that we're beating up on Notre Dame this week, since you're my favorite commenter (sorry Mom). To be fair he said "most" of the teams on that list, so you could say USC doesn't apply.

Maybe you could answer this since you're an ND fan: Do the coaches there have any clue whatsoever?

USC's not very good??? They're not a typical Pete Carroll USC team, but I think they're still pretty good.

Note to Corwin: You can devise a game plan all you want, but it's not going to do dick for you unless you teach your players not to over pursue and how to tackle. Both of these things were the problem against Navy (and, pretty much everyone else they've played this year).

Also, there's this little thing called "half time adjustments", where you see the fullback on the other team running roughshod through your secondary, and then you make the adjustments in your defensive scheme in order to stop it.
