The NBA’s Desperado: Delonte West

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested on weapons charges Thursday night after he was pulled over driving a three-wheeled motorcycle with three loaded guns.

West, who started 64 games for Cleveland last year, told the officer he was carrying a handgun in his waistband Plaxico-style. The cops searched him and his trike and found a loaded 9mm Beretta in his waistband, a Ruger .357 strapped to his leg and a shotgun in a guitar case slung over his back, according to the Washington Post.

West was charged with speeding and two counts of carrying a handgun. He was released Friday.

Now why was West coming so heavy? Does it make sense for a professional athlete to carry around three loaded guns, including one strapped to your back, after the whole Plaxico Burress ordeal? Doesn’t Delonte watch “E:60?” And who the hell rides a three-wheeled motorcycle?

At least we know the King will be protected on the road this season.

  5. Yeah, for a second I really thought that was a picture of Delonte!

This is a ridiculous story. How fucking stupid do you have to be to carry that much shit on you as a professional athlete? And the guitar case gun? Really?
