Chris Pressley Is My Favorite

August 19, 2009 – 9:36 pm by McD

Aside from Carson Palmer’s emergence as the best deadpan comedian since Mitch Hedberg, my favorite person from this season of Hard Knocks on HBO is rookie fullback Chris Pressley. But before I talk about him too much, watch this video of him squatting 610 pounds several times.

For the record, that was posted in 2006 when Pressley was 19. Now, he’s a graduate of Wisconsin with a 4.0 GPA and the kind of back story that Michael Lewis would want to write about. He came from a poor background in New Jersey and was raised by a single mom (dude didn’t even have proper cleats until he got to college), only instead of becoming a cliche, he became the kind of all-around MANster that makes this country great.

If this kid doesn’t make the Bengals, and I mean shit, it’s the Bengals, then the Chargers need to hook this kid up. I know for a fact our fullbacks are bullshit since Lorenzo Neal left, and Pressley is all potential and badassery.

And if football really doesn’t work out, which would really piss me off, he’s got a future as an anti-smoking aide.
