The Answer For The Clippers?

Oh please, oh please let this be true.

Apparently the Los Angeles Clippers are pushing for a face-to-face meeting with Allen Iverson with the intention (if the meeting goes well) of signing him to a one-year contract for the $5.8 million mid-level exception. As I said above, oh God please let this be true.

After drafting Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin, the Clippers actually looked to finally be headed in a positive direction. Then they unloaded Zach Randolph’s massive contract and giant attitude problems on the Memphis Grizzlies for an expiring contract and have been trying to dump Chris Kaman’s anchor of a deal. What’s going on here? The Clippers are making reasonable moves.

Now they’re interested bringing A.I. to L.A. to give guidance to the Clippers’ young players. Ahhh that’s the awful franchise we all know and love.

They’ve got Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Mardy Collins, Mike Taylor and Quentin Richardson, clearly they need another guard with attitude issues. Iverson was so great for the Detroit Pistons that they didn’t even want him on their playoff roster. He ended up making the roster but wasn’t allowed to play.

It’s not like we’re talking about Derek Fisher who would be a model citizen the young guys could learn from and carry those lessons forward. This is Allen Iverson. Allen “We Talkin’ Bout Practice” Iverson. That’s like carefully selecting a top quality new carpet, getting the best guy to install it, basking in how great it looks, then dropping your pants and taking a huge shit right in the middle of it.

God I love the Clippers.
