Economy? What’s An Economy?

Have a gander at Eclipse, the world’s biggest private yacht. It boasts a missile defense system, two helipads, and an escape submarine along with many, many other ridiculously expensive features. It cost 300 million pounds (about $600 million) to build in German shipyards and is scheduled to be delivered to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in 2010.

Dude already has four other extremely nice boats, but this one was built specifically to out-do the leader of Dubai, who used to have the biggest yacht in the world. I mean, now it’s just a yacht. Might as well trade it in, dude.

See that, American sports leagues? Not everyone has to save money right now, right? Chelsea is doing just fine, thank you. So’s Real Madrid, for that (completely unrelated) matter. Hey Roman, wanna buy Newcastle United? Please? Guh.

  4. The word “yacht” originally comes from a type of boat used for hunting. It’s related to the Jager in Jagermeister.
