Indiana’s NCAA Tournament Resume

March 9, 2009 – 11:48 pm by Ryan Phillips

Since we’re less than a week away from Selection Sunday and everyone is checking and re-checking tournament resumes and figuring out who is in and who is out right now, we figured we’d give our alma mater’s current tournament resume.

Needless to say, it’s been a tough season for the Indiana Hoosiers. But hey, they’ve still got the Big Ten tournament left to impress those committee members still on the fence about letting them into the Big Dance.

Here’s a look where Indiana stands right now:

Indiana Hoosiers (6-24, 1-17)
RPI: 211
Strength of Schedule: 5
Record vs. RPI Top 50: 0-14
Key wins: Cornell, Chaminade
Key losses: Northeastern, Lipscomb, Iowa, Northwestern (twice), Wisconsin (twice), St. Joseph’s, Notre Dame
Seed in conference tournament: 11
The Good: At one point, they were undefeated on the year.
The Bad: That didn’t last long.
The Ugly: Have lost 20 of last 21 games.

Alright, so they have a little work to do this week during the Big Ten tournament, but they’ll essentially be playing home games at Conseco Fieldhouse. Anything is possible. Right?

  2. How could you leave off the win over Northwestern State? We haven’t lost to every directionally-named school we’ve played. This is huge on the resume.

  3. 5th ranked strength of schedule? How could the selection committee leave the 5th ranked team out of the tournament? TOP 5!!

On another note, what’s with not posting anything for several days and then shitting out 4 at once?
