Even Better Than The Real Thing?
March 24, 2009 – 1:40 am by HickeyLast year we told you about the sudden appearance of a bogus new college basketball postseason tournament, the CBI.We even covered it better than they covered themselves.
As it turns out, the CBI was so successful — or maybe so unsuccessful — that it spawned an even newer, arguably more bogus postseason tourney this year, the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, aka the CIT. (Actually, it is more legit than the CBI, which accepted two sub-.500 teams in its 16-team field this year.)
Against all odds, the CIT has provided us with the single most compelling moment of this year’s postsesason, as Bradley’s Chris Roberts hurled in a 75-footer at the buzzer to give the Braves a win over Oakland on Monday night.
I guess I have finally seen the light as to why the Braves had the onions to create that MVC Shuffle video earlier this season. Now I just wonder if they broke anyone’s bracket.
