We’re admittedly pretty excited about Derrick Rose and think eventually he and Tyrus Thomas can be a lot like Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler or Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire. Wait, didn’t one of those guys used to play for the Bulls?
Anyway, like we said, it’s too early to throw the Bulls under the bus. They’re 2-2 so far and hanging in there. But they haven’t won on the road.
So, Lou Holtz took his best shot at firing the boys up Tuesday after their loss in Orlando on Monday.
Yep, little Lou took a break from pontificating terribly about college football to talk to the Bulls about “teamwork, passion and goals,” according to the Chicago Tribune headline.
Said Kirk Hinrich:
“He was awesome,” guard Kirk Hinrich said. “He’s an incredible speaker. He shared some of his experiences and talked about what it means to be on a team. I think it can help us.”
Well hey, hopefully it helps. Or at least hopefully nobody took any projectile saliva in the eye.
UPDATE: Yeah, that pep talk worked really well. The Bulls responded with a 107-93 loss to the Cavs Wednesday night.
