this is exactly what we need, been a 49er fan since 1981.The glory days are over, and iron mike is just the right person to get it back. We dont need any yes men that say the right thing and do the other.We need a focal leader of men and if you dont get on board we will see ya on the free agent list. I just hope the 49er brass does the right thing and let this man fix all the screw ups for the last several years. And by the way i have a closet full of 49er gear just waitin to be worn, IRON MIKE GO GET EM

I hope he survives with this style. All of our great Chicago writers thought he was too much. Coming from a city that brought us Ditka,Halas, and Butkus. Give me a break!

Singletary is one piece of the puzzle for the Niners. Their D is in decent shape, especially with Patrick Willis…it’s the O that needs to keep them off the field. I love Frank Gore, but if I owned the team I’d trade Gore for a heavy price, a la the Hershell Walker Vikings/Cowbos trade so many years ago. Let Singletary draft some talent with character next year and then the Niners will be respectable again. Let’s face it…no matter what Singleary brings to the table now, opposing defences just have to stop Gore to beat the Niners. Piss off this season and do a REAL rebuild. Problem is, the Niner ownership would never hav th nads to do something so bold, and as a result, Singletary will fail. Sad, but true.

The 49ers are still awful, but at least now they might be entertaining. Mike Singletary is certainly an improvement over Mr. Empty Suit.
