When the Band Kiss and Sports Cross Paths

Sometimes we like to peruse various newspaper sports sections in the afternoon, you know, just to see what’s up around the country without having to use ESPN as a clearinghouse.

Well, today we didn’t have to get very far before we found something pretty, well, weird. Yeah, really weird.

According to an Associated Press story, a Los Angeles man is suing Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, claiming Simmons and a couple business partners cut him out of a deal he’d helped negotiate between the group and the Indy Racing League.

The story goes on to say that Simmons helped promote IndyCar in 2006 and co-wrote a song called “I am INDY.”

Who knew Gene Simmons was so into open wheel racing?

Now, thanks to an exhaustive YouTube search, we have brought this (God awful) song to your ears. ‘Ol Gene must have fallen on some hard times.

  2. I am suing KISS for sucking ass for 30-plus years. Particularly for the song “I am Indy.” The emotional damage is incomparable.
