Just a small batch of items for you to enjoy as you begin your Labor Day Weekend. Oh wait, that means you probably aren’t going to read any of this.
- Here’s Roger Ebert’s best review yet. The subject? Jay Mariotti. I tried to do the subject justice earlier this week, but Ebert’s delightful vindictiveness trumped any words I could muster. Although I do have to say, I’m still proud that I’ve provided Jay’s address to the world at-large.
- Patrick Ewing, Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps again. After transfering from IU to Georgetown, he’s now going from the Rockets to the Knicks via trade before he’s played a single NBA game.
Next stop? The Gold Club in Atlanta.
Ironically, Ewing Jr. was drafted by the Kings, so this makes the third team he’s been on before his rookie season has even started. Best of all, he was traded for Frederic Weis, the dude who is best known for having Vince Carter’s nuts in his face. And for never actually playing an NBA game despite being drafted in 1999.
Oh Knicks, you never cease to amuse me.
