It’s an Awful Time to be a Mariners Fan

Are the Mariners really relevant to any discussion about baseball with less than 30 games left in the season and some outstanding playoff races heating up?

Well, no. They’re something like 31 games behind the first place Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Southern California of the West Coast of the United States of the Western Hemisphere of the World.

It’s funny, looking back now, that many, many ESPN know-it-alls thought the Mariners would win the West this year. Turns out they’re God awful.

So how bad is it in one of our favorite cities? The local media is wondering if the M’s will suffer a letdown by playing another shitty team.

This is what it’s come to in the great Northwest. Will the Mariners stumble in an inconsequential series against an almost equally bad division rival? I don’t know! Oh man! I can’t wait to find out!

Poor Mariner-Fan. They don’t even have Richie Sexson to blame all their problems on anymore.

  2. Didn’t the talking heads at the World Wide Leader predict the Indians, Rockies, Braves and Yankees would go on to great things this year, in addition to the Mariners?

  3. I attended an A’s/Mariners game at Safeco this weekend. Seattle fans make Padres fans look like Red Sox fans.
