Mark Teixeira Likesa the Long Ball

You know, for a lot of guys, three home runs in one game would be something worth having Mom snip it out of the paper for the ‘ol career scrapbook. Not so for Braves first baseman Mark Teixeira.

In the Braves’ 8-3 win over the hapless (I love that word) Mariners on Sunday afternoon Teixeira hit three home runs — two from the left side and one from the right — for the second time in his career.

He also did it in 2006 with the Rangers at Baltimore — most likely in front of plenty of friends and family near his hometown of Annapolis.

So, three home runs in one game = pretty awesome.

For Teixeira = old hat.
