Tomorrow brings us to the first of two series between the Cubs and White Sox. You know, that whole crosstown thing.
I, for one, don’t put a whole lot into it. I find it hard to hate the White Sox for a few reasons: They play in another league, games against them are no more important than games against anyone else and in no way do I resent anything about that organization.
On the other hand, Sox fans will always have a complex about the Cubs. It’s just true. So, let the bitching begin.
I’m sure it’ll be intense and all that, and it is pretty cool both teams are in first place in their respective divisions. But with Carlos Zambrano headed for an MRI on his right shoulder and after having lost three games in a row for the first time this season, it’s more important the Cubs come back to Wrigley and start winning again.
The Sox, on the other hand, are rolling after a sweep of the hapless Pirates. Which is always nice.
Both teams are good, that’s the most important thing. Let’s keep it clean, too, huh fellas? No more of those fighting shenanigans.
