In a game nobody would otherwise care about, Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Willie Harris made one hell of a diving catch to preserve the 1-0 Nationals win Thursday afternoon at Shea.
That’s, uh, pretty much it. Harris came in to pinch hit for starter Jason Bergmann, put down a sacrifice bunt which helped get the lone run across the plate, then stayed in left and made that (check the video) catch in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the thing.
And this is a real, lay-out-feet-off-the-ground-face-in-the-dirt dive. Not some lame thing with a slide that he didn’t really need to do. Web gem, bitches!
