Mourning the Loss of Chris Paul from These Playoffs

San Antonio 91, New Orleans 82: Here we’ve been bitching this whole time about how vanilla all these playoff series are because nobody wins on the road and the Spurs go and do something like this, winning Game 7 in New Orleans to reach the Western Conference Finals for the millionth time in my life.

NBA fans at-large have to be sad to see Chris Paul eliminated. It would have been awful fun to watch he and Kobe go at it. It would’ve been all the things we like: high-scoring, fast-paced and roundly entertaining.

Instead we get Tim Duncan and obligatory shots of Eva Longoria sitting in the stands. Eh, I guess it’s not so bad. Until they pan to Jack Nicholson.

Like the cliche goes, it takes baby steps to move up in the NBA. Paul and Co. took a huge step this year, so it stands to reason he’ll be wowing us again this time next year. Then again, that’s what everyone said about the Bulls last year too…

Just saying.

  2. HOORAY, Jack Nicholson. Yes, I too will miss the likes of CP3. I did the match up between Paul and Parker (newly called TP3), a Paul/Bryant match up would’ve been sick. Guess I’ll be waiting for the Garnett/Wallace dance.
