In Which Phillips and McD Weep Openly

Sad news out of San Diego, baseball fans. Staff ace and resident grunter (seriously, listen to him pitch) Jake Peavy is going to miss his next start with “discomfort in his elbow.” I mean, the Padres already suck so, better safe than sorry.

But everyone knows this is how it all starts. It’s one start, then another, then it’s a stint on the disabled list then it’s Tommy John surgery.

Peavy is a max-effort pitcher and his delivery is kinda violent, so this was probably inevitable at some point. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck for Padres fans like Phillips and McD. Poor bastards.

My advice: Get Peavy as far away from Mark Prior as you possibly can. It’s that simple. Or maybe Prior will teach Peavy how to really work that towel toss thing he does as part of his rehab. It’s working out reallllly good, isn’t it Mark?

  2. Not only are the Padres bad, it’s just plain depressing.

Just do an Alan Wiggins bobblehead night and call it a season, Moores.
