Asdrubal Cabrera Prefers to Work Alone

Like a suave British agent with a propensity to bed easy women, Indians second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera knows if you want something done right it’s best to do it yourself.

Cabrera turned the 14th unassisted triple play in Major League history Monday night in Cleveland’s 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays. And, as you can see, it’s really not that cool to watch. Kinda boring, really. But when was the last time you saw an unassisted triple play?

I’ll tell you. It was April 29 of last year when Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki turned the trick. Oh, so it wasn’t even that long ago. Lame.

Side note: The Indians lost in 10 innings after starter Cliff Lee went nine shutout innings to drop his ERA to 0.67. Yeah. That’s ridiculous. When will this dude slow down?

  2. Sure, baseball fans saw an unassisted triple play last year. But Indians fans haven’t seen one since Bill Wambsganss pulled it off in the 1920 World Series against the Brooklyn Robins. Bill Wambsganss! Brooklyn Robins!
