Thoughts And Prayers

April 16, 2007 – 11:12 pm by Ryan Phillips

Sorry for the lack of posting today, but I woke up to the images of the horrid scene unfolding in Blacksburg, Va and couldn’t bring myself to care about sports today. I can’t pretend to give you expert analysis of the awful events that happened at Virginia Tech, so if you want that, go here.

I wish I could say something incredibly profound, concise and thoughtful enough to make us all feel better, but I can’t. Terrible things like this happen in the world, and nothing I can say will make that untrue.

All I can tell you is that through tragedy we find strength. From strength comes determination. And using that determination we can all strive to make this world a better place. We can also hope that we will all come out better on the other side. The people who do evil in this world will never shatter the spirit of those who do good. And their actions cannot cloud the light of hope that exists for a better tomorrow.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by today’s events.

We’ll get back to doing what we do tomorrow, bright and early. But today, we’re all Hokies.
