Aloha From Maui, Game 2

#19 Georgia Tech v. Purdue
There was nothing I wanted to see more than Purdue getting spanked because they did this to my Hoosiers this past Saturday. Well, I got my wish as the Yellow Jackets smoked the Boilers 79-61 on the strength of an impressive pair of freshmen. Freshman point guard Javaris Crittenton scored 20 points, dished out 5 assists and made 11-12 free throws to pace Georgia Tech. Fellow frosh phenom Thaddeus Young ended up with 13 points and 10 boards, and the 6-8 former high school all-american was impressive.

I really think Young is going to be one and done, he’s got an NBA body, nice touch and is really athletic. Georgia Tech could end up being a really good team by the time the tournament rolls around.

There’s really not much else to say about this game since it was kind of a sleeper once the second half started. The Jackets outscored Purdue 51-37 after the break and it was never really in doubt. On the bright side Rick Majerus’ work is done for the day so he can go utterly destroy the postgame food spread in the press area.
